Just wondering how many people out winter their cattle? Do they come out of winter well and what do you feed them?

We’ve had most of our cows out until the beginning of February. We put some Stubble turnips in September and they have been strip grazing these since November, a lot cheaper than bringing them in on silage this year! They have done really well on them, will be doing the same next year.

Do you feed straw out also or just turnips?

Yeah we gave them straw in a ring feeder too
