G’day everyone.
My name is Colin Wientjens, from south Gippsland Victoria Australia, I’ve been using English longhorn semen for a fair few years now trying to build up my own small herd here. I currently have a handful of heifers by fishwicks lord of the rings and gupworthy onzlo, as they were the bulls available from the only supplier of English longhorn semen in Australia. Myself and a number of other small scale breeders were excited as a new shipment of straws was on its way so we could restock our tanks and continue to breed up our animals with the view of one day having pure breeds.
Unfortunately it seems there has been an issue with this shipment, it turns out that one large breeder here in Australia has bought the whole shipment of semen on the condition that the supplier no longer imports any more semen or sells any of them is fantastic breed.
I was wondering if anyone over there in the uk could help point us in the right direction of being able to acquire Australia exportable semen? We have done some investigation and it’s very expensive to import in smaller volumes. Any help or information that anyone could give us would be much appreciated.
